"Caramel, fudge, beef tea and fruit cake aromas, with touches of orange marmalade and baked apple. Round, tangy and pure on the palate, with wonderfully integrated elements and intense, beautifully balanced, mature flavours. A fantastic expression of Bual with a long, fresh streak of acidity on the finish."

Blandy's has been producing premium fortified wines and brandies for over 200 years. The company was founded by John Blandy in 1811, a British merchant who settled in Madeira, an island located off the coast of Portugal. Today, the company is still owned by the Blandy family, with Chris Blandy serving as CEO and winemaker Francisco Albuquerque overseeing production.
Madeira's unique terroir, with its volcanic soil, steep hillsides, and hot, humid climate, provides ideal conditions for growing grapes. Blandy's vineyards, which cover over 200 hectares of the island, are planted with classic grape varieties such as Sercial, Verdelho, Bual, and Malmsey, which are used to produce their signature fortified wines and brandies.
Blandy's has received numerous awards including several gold medals at the International Wine Challenge and the Decanter World Wine Awards. During World War II, Blandy's worked closely with the British government to provide fortified wines and brandies for soldiers and as diplomatic gifts. Today, the company continues to be a leader in the industry, producing some of the finest fortified wines and brandies in the world.
