The 2021 is crystalline pure. Firm pear and a waft of tightly budded white flowers are at the core here with nice texture and a chablis-like weight. A delicious balance of drive and soft comforting texture, clever stuff and delicious drinking.
Sylvaner Südtirol Eisacktaler DOC by Manni Nossing 2021
Manfred Nossing, is a young, charismatic winemaker who produces top wines that perfectly interpret the characteristics of the variety. Thanks to the success of his white wines he has been recognized as the best producer of the Isarco Valley. Manni's Sylvaner is a wine with sensual floral aromas, easy to drink thanks to its excellent flavor and freshness. Golden yellow with greenish reflections. Aromatic vegetable and floral scents, with soft wild flowers, herbs and apples. The palate is full and rich, very taut and fresh, with good structure and great persistence.
Gruner Veltliner Eisacktaler DOC by Manni Nossing 2021
Manni's Grüner Veltliner is a pure joy to taste. His fruit comes from his high vineyards at between 660-700 metres of altitude in the beautiful Eisaktaler Valley. To preserve the freshness and delicate, complex aromas he gives it a long, cool fermentation with half in stainless steel vats and the other half in large (30 Hecrolitre), 5-year-old 'botti'. This adds a touch of texture but no discernible oakiness - just perhaps accentuating the pretty spice and pepper notes that compliment this fresh, firm peach and white pear core of fruit. There are flowers too - a whiff of white blooms and the a fresh, bright, lemon line that flows and flows picking out mineral texture and the faintest feel of chalky dust. A super 'Alpine' wine with lovely subtle texture.
