The wines of Proprietor Fabio Chiarelloto are some of the most highly praised coming out of Tuscany. The 2020 A Quo is an absolutely gorgeous offering from Montepeloso. The 2020 vintage leans most heavily(about 65-70% of the blend) on Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, enhanced with smaller amounts of Montepulciano, Mareselan and Alicante Bouchet.
The wine exhibits a dark bright colour. The nose is dominated by dark red fruits, with herbal and mineral notes. The palate shows nice tension with expressions of black fruits and forest floor, all in a mid-weight, exuberant style that is so appealing. Drink it over the next decade.
"Lovely, fruity red with cherries, berries and some stone and sandalwood. It’s full and soft-textured with round tannins. Drink or hold."
