Aaron Bick died suddenly and unexpectedly of heart failure on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.
Aaron Bick was an extraordinary man and an unforgettable presence to all those around him.
Aaron loved and cared for his children, Hannah, Izzy and Althea with a larger-than-life devotion.
Aaron was a passionate and dynamic partner to Laurel whom he considered 'his much better half'. Their generous table was a gathering place for so many people - all devouring Aaron's trademark barbeque meals and his choice of exceptional wines.
Aaron was a precious and valued presence in the lives of his friends and colleagues. They talked to him often just to get their regular dose of Aaron - uncanny with his insights and knowledge.
He had a magnetism that pulled so many exceptional people into his circle. Unpredictably outrageous, it was hard to know what Aaron would do next. He would often joke, 'You can't say I don't make life exciting.' That he did!
Aaron was also a major presence to thousands who never met him - the clients of WineOnline, the company he founded.
Every day Aaron would send out emails with passionate recommendations of his favourite wines. Intertwined with it all was Aaron's generosity - story after story of people receiving Aaron's open-handed assistance.
Aaron was on the West Park Fundraising Board to build a new healthcare centre. It is a sad, sad day without Aaron. Laurel and the children, his brothers Daniel and Jonny (his co-founders in WineOnline) and their families, his two younger siblings Nomi and Noah, his parents Marion and Robert and his many, many friends and colleagues throughout the world are all wondering how life will be without Aaron's incandescent presence.
