Wineonline is honoured to present you with what is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have an intimate (12 person) dinner with Steven Spurrier, Marc Nadeau and the team that is relaunching Académie du Vin in Ontario. Steven Spurrier is wine royalty. His accomplishments and accolades are many. He founded L’Academie du Vin in 1973, which was the FIRST wine appreciation school created in France. He conducted and organized the “Judgement of Paris” tasting, which famous pitted the top Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from California against the best of France, and won. He writes and reviews for some of the greatest wine magazines such as Decanter, and has worked for Harrods, Christies, among others. Not to mention, he has one of the greatest palates the world has ever seen. His articles have created, and defined trends for generations. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to break bread with one of the wine worlds brightest stars.
We will be celebrating the release of “Sherry Maligned, misunderstood, magnificent!” and drinking some of the greatest examples of sherry ever created. Samuel Fritz-Tate has sourced the some of the greatest sherries available, and added some rare sherries from his personal cellar to accompany a menu paired to the wines at One Restaurant. He will showcase one of the wine worlds final hidden treasures and showcase just how versatile, enthralling and spectacular these wines are with food.
ONE Restaurant is Chef McEwan’s contemporary Yorkville hotspot located at the chic Hazelton Hotel. The sumptuous bar, tree-lined candle lit patio and lavish dining room make for an immersive dining experience day or night.
