Full-flavored, warm, inviting, vigorous wine. It has a very intense ruby color, a bouquet of ripe fruit that is complex and persistent. A perfect composition of smooth tannins, with an alcoholic fullness and glycerin softness, enables it to exalt the perception of spices, ripe cherries, chocolate.

The Producer

Cantine Salvalai

Cantine Salvalai is located in the heart of the Veneto region in northern Italy. Founded in 1870 by the Salvalai family, the winery has been producing high-quality wines for over 150 years. Today, the winery is owned and operated by the fourth generation of the Salvalai family.

The Cantine Salvalai winemaker is Luca Degani, who has been with the winery for over a decade. Degani is a highly skilled winemaker with a deep understanding of the local terroir, and he is known for his ability to produce wines that are both elegant and complex.

The winery is located in the Valpolicella region of Veneto, known for its fertile soil and mild climate. The vineyards are planted on gently rolling hills that are surrounded by mountains, which provide protection from the harsh winter winds. The terroir is characterized by a combination of clay and limestone soils, which contribute to the unique flavor profile of the wines.

In 2018, their Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore was awarded a gold medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards, one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world.
