"This is a spectacular amarone that finds great equilibrium and finesse despite its 16.5% alcohol. The nose is not over the top exuberant but it captures very ripe dried cran-cherry fruit with vermouth spices and rosemary like herbality. It is full bodied and rich, but very streamlined and elegant across the mid-palate, and finishing with outstanding flavour depth and length."

In 1928, Renzo Cesari purchases Brigaldara. In the 1980s the direction passes to Stefano, Renzo's grandson, who starts a long-lasting collaboration with Roberto Ferrarini, one of the most important innovators in the history of Amarone and Valpolicella. In 1997, Brigaldara's Amarone was awarded the Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso for the first time.
Stefano Cesari and his sons Lamberto and Antonio modernize the production methods and the cellar. They promote a rational arrangement of the vineyards, specializing each one of them according to the most suitable varieties for each area. In addition to the properties around the villa in San Floriano, they have the vineyards in Marano, where Corvina and Corvinone are cultivated; the Case Vecie vineyard, in Grezzana, dedicated to a special 'Amarone Vigne Alte'; the Cavolo vineyard, also in Grezzana, is dedicated to the production of an Amarone with delicate floral notes; and the new vineyards in Marcellise, where the autochthonous vines of Valpolicella are grown: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and the rediscovered native variety of Oseleta.
Today Brigaldara covers 120 hectares, 47 of which are planted with vineyards, while the rest is mainly olive groves, crops, pastures and woods. The company is committed to an extraordinary and unique biodiversity which they respect and enhance through sustainable practices, both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
