Armagnac Castarède is one of the oldest and most esteemed Armagnac houses in the Gascony region of France. Founded in 1832 by Jacques Castarède, the winery has been passed down through five generations of the family and is currently owned by Florence Castarède.
The winemaker at Armagnac Castarède is Florence's son, Olivier, who has been instrumental in modernizing the production techniques while still adhering to traditional methods. Armagnac Castarède produces a range of Armagnacs, including vintage bottlings that date back as far as 1893.
Armagnac Castarède is located in the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region, which is known for its sandy and chalky soils that are ideal for growing grapes. The Castarède vineyards are situated on a south-facing slope, which provides excellent exposure to the sun and allows the grapes to ripen fully.
Over the years, Armagnac Castarède has received numerous awards and accolades for their exceptional Armagnacs, including a gold medal at the 2018 International Wine & Spirit Competition. The winery's commitment to quality and tradition has helped establish them as one of the premier Armagnac producers in the world.
