Pasquale Pelissero
Pasquale Pelissero is a small, family-run winery that had its humble beginnings in a garage under the guidance of 'Papa' Pasquale. He was among the first in Neive to bottle and independently sell his wines. Despite being a traditionalist in winemaking, Pasquale remained receptive to innovative techniques in both winemaking and cellar management. The vineyards are regarded as a true gem and are frequently visited by fellow producers in the region. Positioned near the summit of Bricco San Giuliano hill, the cellar is entirely surrounded by Pelissero vineyards.
Following Pasquale's passing in 2007, his daughter Ornella has diligently upheld the family legacy, handling all aspects of the vineyards and cellar independently. Her only deviation from tradition has been the introduction of a temperature-controlled fermentation tank. The Bricco San Giuliano Barbaresco, sourced from an 8-hectare plot approximately 400 meters above sea level, undergoes exclusive aging in large botte, while the Dolcetto, characterized by plum notes and intriguing hints of flint and smoke, matures in stainless steel. Situated in one of Neive's most historic and picturesque locations, the winery's annual output is modest, totaling around 15,000 bottles.
The estate is a proud member of a recently established consortium of Langhe producers called 'Biotipicità,' formed by producers committed to 'lotta integrata,' an Italian regulation governing sustainable farming practices.
