"Red berry, rose, menthol, new leather, cracked pepper and wild herb aromas come together on this. Linear, elegant and youthfully austere, the palate delivers red cherry, pomegranate, licorice and star anise framed in tight, close-grained tannins and racy acidity before an orange zest finish."

Established more than 40 years ago by Ernesto Dellapiana, the Azienda Vitivinicola Rizzi is situated in the quaint village of Treiso, nestled in the heart of the Barbaresco and Langhe region. Originally, the estate's vineyards sprawled across the slopes of Rizzi hill, encompassing the esteemed Cru Rizzi and Cru Nervo. From 1984 to 2018, the winery expanded its vineyard holdings to include additional Crus, notably the renowned Pajorè.
Ernesto and his wife Lia now collaborate with their daughter, Jole, overseeing sales and marketing, and their son, Enrico, who manages viticulture and wine production. Despite more than four decades in operation, the Rizzi winery remains steadfast in its commitment to classicism and tradition. Environmental and ecosystem respect is a key focus, employing methods such as pellet manure, compost, and green manure for fertilization, and copper and sulphur for combating fungi and pests. The maintenance of sub-plates is solely carried out through mechanical techniques.
The overarching goal, passed down through generations, remains unchanged: to showcase in their wines the authentic expression of each season and the unique terroir. The Rizzi winery stands as one of the most enduring and trustworthy production facilities in Barbaresco, epitomizing Piedmontese classical tradition through various Crus, including Rizzi, Nervo, Pajorè, and Vigne Boito. These vineyards, with their optimal exposure, give rise to wines that are both classic and profound.
