Cardinal red tending towards purple. Complex but fresh on the nose. Fruity to start, complimented in time with elegant spicy highlights. The palate is complex and fruity, with soft tannins suggesting the balanced presence of wood, and finishing with a hint of cherry. A generous wine that sits well with strong savoury dishes, light fried courses, roasts, grilled or boiled meats and well aged cheese.

Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno

Since 1897 this family-run winery has produced legendary wines from their Cannubi vineyard. If Italy were to employ the same vineyard classification system as Burgundy, there is no arguing that Cannubi would be amongst the Grand Crus. Frankly, there is little argument that it would be the King amongst even that elite company of celebrated and famous vineyards. Today, the 5th generation (Emanuela and Federica) in this family wine company continue to make beautiful and authentic wines from their stellar vineyards throughout Langhe.
