Bardos has a rich history that dates back to the 19th century. In 1992, Julie Johnson, the owner of Bardos and her husband, Bart, founded Tres Sabores Winery. After years of success, they decided to expand their portfolio and acquired the historic St. Helena winery that is now Bardos.
Luc Morlet is the winemaker at Bardos. His passion for winemaking can be traced back to his childhood in France, where he grew up in a wine-producing family. He has worked at some of the most prestigious wineries in France and California, including Peter Michael Winery and Newton Vineyard.
The Napa Valley is known for its diverse terroir, and Bardos is no exception. The winery is located in the St. Helena AVA, which is known for its warm days and cool nights. The soil is a mix of volcanic ash and alluvial deposits, which creates a unique flavor profile in the wines. The winery also produces wines from the Howell Mountain AVA, which has a higher elevation and a cooler climate.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
