Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno Barolo Albarella has a vibrant, dark ruby color. There is a lot of intensity on the bouquet with dried cherry skin and macerated perfumes of crushed rose petal. You even get a hint of cherry cough drop. You hardly feel the tannins in this well-integrated wine, but there is evident structure and staying power. This is the second vintage produced of Albarella (with only 1,040 bottles made and sold in box sets with four different front labels).

"Mid ruby with orange tinges. Aromatic, ripe strawberry and raspberry nose that is already beginning to evolve a little. Succulent yet lithe on the palate, but with impressive fruit length. It’s all raspberry and soft, persistent tannins on the finish."
