Tasting Notes
The 2014 Barolo sets off with some ripe and soft aromas that come as a surprise given the cool growing season. The 2014 vintage saw heat in the week leading up to harvest, and that last-minute heat wave has done a lot to shape this Barolo. Dried cherry and cassis segue to wild rose, tar and grilled anise seed. The mouthfeel is watery and lean.

Since 1897 this family-run winery has produced legendary wines from their Cannubi vineyard. If Italy were to employ the same vineyard classification system as Burgundy, there is no arguing that Cannubi would be amongst the Grand Crus. Frankly, there is little argument that it would be the King amongst even that elite company of celebrated and famous vineyards. Today, the 5th generation (Emanuela and Federica) in this family wine company continue to make beautiful and authentic wines from their stellar vineyards throughout Langhe.
