Tasting Notes

"Camphor, rose and crushed mint aromas mingle with star anise on this fragrant red. Firmly structured and showing finesse, the youthfully austere palate offers pomegranate, sour cherry, licorice and ground clove alongside assertive tannins. It's balanced, with fresh acidity."

95 Points / Cellar Selection - Wine Enthusiast, November 2021

"...the Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2015 Barolo Riserva Cannubi is beautifully elegant and fine. This is an impressive effort that stands apart, thanks to the integrity and freshness of the fruit."

The Producer

Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno

Since 1897 this family-run winery has produced legendary wines from their Cannubi vineyard. If Italy were to employ the same vineyard classification system as Burgundy, there is no arguing that Cannubi would be amongst the Grand Crus. Frankly, there is little argument that it would be the King amongst even that elite company of celebrated and famous vineyards. Today, the 5th generation (Emanuela and Federica) in this family wine company continue to make beautiful and authentic wines from their stellar vineyards throughout Langhe.
