"An intoxicating wild strawberry scent is enhanced by rhubarb flavoured boiled sweets, cinnamon, and macerated violet. The palate is full of sucrosity, dense and extracted, with fierce, bony fine-grained tannins and bracing acidity. The savoury character dominates the finish along with the wild strawberry fruit. A sleek wine not without the power to age."

Guido Porro

With many prized vineyards in Barolo’s Serralunga, the Porro family have long grown grapes and fermented wine, however, they historically sold their fruit or wine (in demijohn) to other producers. Only recently have they started bottling under their eponymous label. These soulful, naturally made Barolos are some of the most moving expressions of the Nebbiolo grape one could ever hope to drink—from a family whose history in the Barolo region surely qualifies as 'epic.'
