Bottle Per Case : 6 x 750ml

"The small Guido Porro winery offers some of the best value for money in Serralunga – if not all of Barolo. The Lazzairasco vineyard is made up of old vines averaging around 80 years, forming a small amphitheatre within the Lazzarito MGA in Serralunga. Matured in large barrels, it has a rich red and black cherry aroma outlined by some smokiness and damp earth. Intense and with good concentration, it has a peppery attack followed by a wave of fresh acidity and beautifully poised sweet cherry and blackberry fruits. The mid-palate is stony and even shows a touch of iron, leading to a persistent, fresh saline finish which carries the fruit and spice."

With many prized vineyards in Barolo’s Serralunga, the Porro family have long grown grapes and fermented wine, however, they historically sold their fruit or wine (in demijohn) to other producers. Only recently have they started bottling under their eponymous label. These soulful, naturally made Barolos are some of the most moving expressions of the Nebbiolo grape one could ever hope to drink—from a family whose history in the Barolo region surely qualifies as 'epic.'
