"Structured and loaded with finesse, the 2021 V.S. Caterina from Guido Porro entices with aromas of camphor, forest floor, hay and ripe dark-skinned fruit. Made with 40-45-year-old vines with southwest exposure in the Lazzarito MGA in Serralunga, it's full-bodied, with layers of succulent Morello cherry, cinnamon, truffle orange peel and licorice. A minty note lingers on the finish while firm, refined tannins and fresh acidity provide support and balance."

Guido Porro
With many prized vineyards in Barolo’s Serralunga, the Porro family have long grown grapes and fermented wine, however, they historically sold their fruit or wine (in demijohn) to other producers. Only recently have they started bottling under their eponymous label. These soulful, naturally made Barolos are some of the most moving expressions of the Nebbiolo grape one could ever hope to drink—from a family whose history in the Barolo region surely qualifies as 'epic.'
