Godelia was founded in 2009 by Carlos Gómez and María Jesús García in Bierzo, Spain. The winery is located in the village of Pieros, 550 meters above sea level, and covers an area of 26 hectares. The terroir is characterized by a mixture of slate and granite soils and a unique microclimate.
The winemaker at Godelia is Josep Serra, a well-known oenologist with more than 20 years of experience in the wine industry. Serra produces wines that reflect the terroir and the unique characteristics of each vintage.
The owner, Carlos Gómez, is a young entrepreneur with a passion for wine. He has been involved in the wine industry since he was a child, working in his family's winery in Ribera del Duero.
Godelia has received numerous awards for its wines, including the gold medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards for its Godelia Selección Tinto 2010. The winery has also been recognized by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, which has given its wines high scores.
