Tasting Notes

The 2021 vintage at Casa Los Frailes was marked by lower yields and very high quality in the vineyard. This Valencian blend of Syrah and Monastrell (the local name for Mourvedre) is deep and dark in the glass with violet hues. The nose shows blueberry, cassis with thyme and rosemary. On the palate, you find a textured, rich and structured wine with beautiful acids which adds lift and life to its bold backbone. This engaging Mediterranean blend begs for rich foods, that's why we recommend beef short ribs, lentils, shiitake and portobello mushrooms, lamb, rabbit, soy sauce and black pepper... Adding herbs to your dishes such as thyme, lavender and rosemary will also enhance the floral character of the wine.

All wines are certified organic and biodynamic.
