This medium to full-bodied wine reveals a beautiful ruby colour with purple reflections. Intense nose of red and black fruit with hints of vanilla. A family owned estate for six generations, Chateau Tour Neuve in Cotes de Bourg is a small estate that was purchased by the Faure family in the 70s. Now run by Delphine Faure who joined the family business 30 years ago after finishing her studies in oenology. Not only did Delphine become the first woman winemaker of the appellation, but she has since elevated the quality of her family's Chateaux to a very impressive and Internationally-recognized level.
This vineyard benefits from a remarkable terroir on clay-limestone soil in the tiny appellation of Cotes de Bourg on the right bank, just across the river from Margaux. The Faures are producing the kind of place-expressive, value-driven Bordeaux that transports you to a time when quality was more important that quantity.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
