The entry-level red Burgundy comes from vineyards in the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. The vines range in age from 30 to 80 years and are farmed sustainably. The major part of this wine is matured in barriques and the remainder is done in stainless steel. This maintains a pure style with bright fruit and a fine texture. 100% delicious. Smashed cherry skins, crunchy acidity and fresh vibrant intensity. But, beneath all the fresh red flowers and sweet talc on the nose there is a fine whiff of wet rocks and autumn. Tannins are chalky, soft and plump. This true Vieilles Vignes Burgundy has killer finesse and an insane quaffable quality that makes it a dangerous wine.
"This is fine and juicy pinot, delicate and ripe but fresh, with terrifically balanced tannins/acids. Fruit is properly in the red-tart red berry spectrum. Length is very good."

Maison Roche de Bellene serves as the trading name for Nicolas Potel, a renowned winemaker in Burgundy who is also the creative force behind Domaine de Bellene. Established in 2009, Roche de Bellene focuses on showcasing distinct terroirs from old vines (40 years or more) cultivated with a sense of responsibility. All the growers collaborating with Nicolas adhere to either certified organic practices or follow the principles of sustainable viticulture, known as lutte raisonée. This commitment allows Nicolas to consistently craft wines that embody his vision, characterized by expression and a deep connection to the terroir.
In addition to Maison Roche de Bellene, Nicolas initiated another venture called 'Collection Bellenum.' This project involves a selection of older vintages from renowned Burgundy producers, carefully chosen from their wine cellars. These rare wines are a testament to a rigorous selection process. The name Bellene is derived from Bellenos, an ancient Gallic god associated with sun and beauty. Notably, the city of Beaune had its roots as 'Bellena' during Roman times, transformed into 'Bellene' in the Middle Ages, and eventually translated to Beaune.
