"Donatella Cinelli Colombini's 2012 Brunello di Montalcino has absorbed more of the summer heat (compared to the Prime Donne selection). The wine shows a round and supple personality with ripe cherry, blackberry preserves and dark spice. The bouquet is more approachable and immediately appealing. This is a fantastic wine to eat in the near term. I can't help but think of how good it would taste across from one of those juicy, boutique burgers you find at the best restaurants. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy with integrated tannins from both the fruit and the oak used."
