John Ray played a pivotal role as one of the early pioneers in what we now know as the wine country of Northern California. After successfully establishing vineyards across the region, Ray extended his influence along the northern stretch of the Russian River, where he planted some of the initial vineyards in Mendocino County.
Supervising the process of fruit selection and winemaking is the esteemed winemaker Michael Westrick. With over 20 years of experience crafting high-quality wines inspired by Bordeaux, Michael has led winemaking efforts for renowned wineries such as Sterling Vineyards in Napa and Stonestreet Winery in Sonoma. Employing a hands-on approach and a finely honed craft, Michael is thrilled to create exceptional Cabernet and Merlot wines sourced from Mendocino County. The use of handpicked fruit and small-batch winemaking captures the rich, terroir-specific essence of this region.
Mendocino boasts an extended growing season characterized by long, hot days and cool nights influenced by maritime conditions, making it a world-class winegrowing region.
