"This has more structure and firmness than many Napa cabs. It is a very dark, quite deep and sinewy young cabernet from an excellent vintage, that should be cellared for about three to five years. Really like the blackcurrant fruit focus with fine oak, vanillin and some mint and fresh moss. Fairly dense, elegant and almost crisp. Excellent length. Give it three years - should live to 2025."

Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars was founded back in 1970 when they acquired the S.L.V. vineyard. Just six years later, their 1973 S.L.V. Estate Cabernet Sauvignon took the top prize at the Judgment of Paris blind tasting, even surpassing esteemed Bordeaux Chateaux. This win firmly established both Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and the Napa Valley as renowned producers of top-tier wines.
Today, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars sets the standard for California Cabernet Sauvignon. They offer unparalleled wine experiences in the Napa Valley, providing guests with exceptional hospitality and breathtaking vineyard views, all complemented by some of the most highly-regarded Napa Valley wines in existence.
