Tasting Notes
Allston Estates Cabernet Sauvignon leads with bright fruit aromas and hints of sage. On the palate, ripe black plum, black cherry and currant flavors mingle with dark chocolate. The Producer
Allston Estates
Allston Estates, located in the Napa Valley region of California, has a history dating back to the early 1900s. Originally owned by the Allston family, the estate was a working ranch until the late 1970s when it was purchased by the current owner, Sarah Thompson.
Under Thompson's guidance, the property was transformed into a vineyard and winery, with a focus on sustainable and organic practices. The estate spans over 100 acres, with 40 acres dedicated to vineyards that produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay grapes.
The winemaker at Allston Estates is Peter Wilson, who has been with the winery since its inception. Wilson has a deep understanding of the unique terroir of the Napa Valley region and uses traditional winemaking techniques to produce high-quality wines that reflect the estate's terroir.
Allston Estates has received numerous awards and accolades for its wines, including a 90-point rating from Wine Enthusiast for its 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery has also been recognized for its commitment to sustainability, earning a certification from the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.
