The California Cab displays aromas of blueberry jam, strawberry tart, boysenberries and a hint of teriyaki, with barrel notes of vanilla and cinnamon. The blend is 88% Cabernet, 11% Merlot and a splash of Zinfandel for a little berry spice. The wine drinks of rich black cherries, red raspberries and juicy ripe plums with a touch of dried herbs. Medium in weight, the wine shows smooth tannins, flavorful fruit tones and a rich berry extract that lingers on the palate.

Avalon Winery, located in the heart of Napa Valley, has a rich history dating back to the early 1970s. The winery was founded by Derek Benham, a successful businessman and wine enthusiast who dreamed of creating world-class wines in California.
Under Benham's leadership Avalon Winery quickly established a reputation for producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Merlot wines. In 1993, the winery hired winemaker Jon Bolta, a graduate of UC Davis, to lead their winemaking team.
Bolta's winemaking philosophy focuses on creating balanced and elegant wines that reflect the unique terroir of Napa Valley. The winery's vineyards are situated in the northern part of the valley, where the soil is composed of gravel and volcanic ash, and the climate is moderated by cool ocean breezes.
Today, Avalon Winery continues to produce some of the most sought-after wines in Napa Valley. The winery's flagship wine, the Cabernet Sauvignon, is known for its rich and complex flavor profile, while the Chardonnay and Merlot are equally impressive.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
