The Producer
Tenuta Il Palagio
Nestled seamlessly amidst the fertile and verdant rolling hills of Tuscany, Villa Il Palagio has been a vine-growing and winemaking estate since the 16th century. This tranquil 350-hectare retreat has served as the summer residence of Sting and Trudie Styler for over two decades. During this time, they painstakingly revitalized the estate's historic vineyards, olive groves, main villa, and guesthouses, turning it into a thriving organic farm and vineyard.
In keeping with the estate's rich heritage, the couple enlisted the expertise of renowned consultants to maximize the potential of the vineyards, including viticulturist Alan York, terroir scientist Pedro Parra, and winemaker Paolo Caciorgna. The current consultant winemaker is Riccardo Cotarella.
Their 11 hectares of vineyards are meticulously tended using biodynamic and organic methods, and are certified as such. They produce three distinct red blends: When We Dance, Casino delle Vie, and their flagship wine, Sister Moon. Message in a Bottle also incorporates fruit from nearby vineyards. Each blend is crafted to capture a unique aspect of the estate, allowing them to share the story of their extraordinary corner of the world with others.
