"Sexy nose of ripe black fruit, red flowers and mineral undertones. Hints of chocolate, too – not to mention toasted oak. Full body, soft tannins and fresh acidity that leads to a herbal and spicy finish. Pure mencía. Balanced. Drinkable now but better in 2018."

    Burgundy (France), France (France)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Rich Fish, Soft Cheese, White Meat

"This traditional-method sparkling wine from southern Burgundy entices the nose with caramel apple, lemon zest and toasty biscuit notes from time spent on its lees in the bottle. It has a generous palate of zesty citrus, ripe apple and brioche leading to a long, full and frothy finish. A good value Crémant, it’s well balanced with lively acidity and a delicate effervescence."

"The dry, sparkling non-vintage Cremant de Bourgogne (100% Chardonnay) offers up notes of orange blossoms, tangerine oil and lemon rind. Fresh, lively, medium-bodied, penetrating and long, this is a sensational value in sparkling Chardonnay."

    Cave Spring Cellars

    Niagara (Canada), Ontario (Canada)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Rich Fish, Soft Cheese, White Meat

Cave Spring`s Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes, which are grown in the limestone-clay soils of their vineyards along the benchlands of the Niagara Escarpment. Vinified in the Traditional Method, it was fermented and aged sur lie in bottle for a minimum of 30 months prior to disgorging. The result is a dry, Brut-style sparkling wine exhibiting delicate effervescence mineral nuances that are true to its cool-climate origins. WINE ACCESS: This wine is the flagship for Cave Spring's increasingly important sparkling wine focus, which now involves four labels. It won a Lieutenant-Governor's Award in 2012. This 100% chardonnay was aged for three years, building subtle almond complexity into the dried apple, lemon and shortbread aromas. It is light-bodied, lively, gentle, delicate and a touch sweet, yet built on a beam of mineral acidity. There's excellent length on the finish. This is a terrific blanc de blanc. 91 points. Cave Spring Cellars

Canada (Canada), Niagara (Canada), Ontario (Canada)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Rich Fish, Soft Cheese, White Meat

"That flesh, that Kabinett flesh, fills the CSV in every crevice. In 2013 the residual sugar number lies between 15 and 16 g/L, and though the crop was bigger, it was still picked later than in 2012. The result is formidable corporeal concentration, consistency of house style and perhaps the only '13 Niagara Riesling to imitate, perpetuate and extrapolate on the vintage that came before. This Cave Spring concentrates fruit and Escarpment into a powerful Riesling, streaming like charged particles through changing expressions. A lingering ascension hovers as it rises, until it slowly fades into the welkin, like a balloon that languidly gets lost into the blinding blue of a midday sky. Drink 2017-2025."

    Weingut Vollenweider

    Germany (Germany), Mosel (Germany)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Rich Fish, Soft Cheese

"This multi-source cuvée displays its usual knack for delivering value, with brightly fresh lemon and apple allied to a flatteringly waxy texture and underlain by firm slate, just as its name (“firm as a rock”) suggests. This finishes with clarity, vibrancy and refreshment, not to mention impressive sheer penetration. While the label says 12% alcohol, the wine projects a fine sense of lift."

"Deep purple color. Fruity, spicy aromas and flavors of chocolate sesame candy, pistachio nougat, spicy berry pie, and tangerine with a satiny, bright, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a polished, interesting, medium-long vanilla toffee, dried raspberry, and smoked nuts finish with silky tannins and light oak. A very tasty, nicely made cabernet with fine flavor and structure."

Roasted aromas and flavors of chocolate coconut macaroon, honeycomb and peach tapioca, roasted nuts, and toasted cedar plank with a silky, bright, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a tingling, interesting, medium-long finish that shows notes of dark chocolate mousse, creme brulee, and ground nuts with fine, chewy tannins and a suggestion of oak flavor.
