The history of the Domaine Daniel Dampt et Fils in Chablis, northern Burgundy , dates back more than 150 years. With 10 hectares (25 acres ) of Chablis Premier Cru vineyards, 12 hectares (30 acres) of Petit Chablis vineyards and some wonderful bottles from the Chablis Grand Cru appellation, the family domaine manages its vineyards sustainably to protect the environment and safeguard the natural characteristics of the Chardonnay grape.
Domaine Daniel Dampt et Fils is in the old village of Milly, which has now become part of Chablis. It is independently run, managing its own winemaking process from start to finish. The current generation – Vincent Dampt and Sébastien Dampt – integrate the traditions and advice passed on to them by their father, Daniel Dampt, and their grandfather, Jean Defaix. They are also innovative and take exceptional care of the vines, their fruit and the wines they produce, patiently maturing them in stainless steel tanks and honouring the fine qualities of the Chablis appellation.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
