Sourced from vines planted in 1964, by Romain and Damien's grandfather.
"Le Clos is undoubtedly the greatest of the Chablis Grand crus, providing unparalleled depth and power. The Bouchard brothers have an ancient vineyard in the middle of the hill, which is the most desired real estate. 2018 was an incredible vintage in Chablis, with great quality and quantity and offering the first true cellaring vintage since 2014. For me, this is everything one could ask for in a Burgundy Chardonnay: creamy texture, minerality, layered fruit, and racy, mouth-watering tension. If you’ve ever wondered by people (like me) become such fanatics about white Burgundy, taste this “Les Clos” and you’ll understand. There are very few white wines in the world that achieve this combination of chiseled precision and pure pleasure (and most of them are in Burgundy)." - Sam Fritz-Tate, Sommelier, April 2020

Domaine de l'Enclos was officially launched by Romain and Damien Bouchard in 2018. The brothers grew up making wines with their father Pascal Bouchard. They started out by purchasing the tiny defunct estate, Domaine de la Grande Chaume, and made the wines in the corner of their fathers winery. When Pascal sold the winery the brothers decided to purchase a historic winery in the heart of Chablis, which gave them the opportunity for a fresh start. Today they organically farm 29 hectares of vines, which range in age from 30 to 50 years old. In 2017, they completed the building of a new winery situated beside the original chateau on the property. Although inspired by traditional winemaking, they employ the best modern techniques as well.
This Chablis is made from 100% Chardonnay harvested from 15.4 hectares of 30 year old vines. Fresh and lively, it is a wine that can be enjoyed now or for several years.
