"Philippe Jouan's 2022 Chambolle-Musigny "Vieilles Vignes" is an excellent wine, offering up a deep and sappy nose of plums, black cherries, pigeon, chalky soil tones, a touch of mustard seed, distant bonfire and a nice framing of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is pure, elegant and quintessentially Chambolle, with its full-bodied format revealing a lovely, sappy core of fruit, excellent soil signature, fine-grained tannins and impeccable balance on the long, complex and very classy finish. This is excellent for a villages wine, with many of the vines that go into this bottling more than seventy years-old! (Drink between 2035-2075)"
