Bernard Depoivre winery - descended from several generations of traditional harvesting winegrowers and Champagne producers - is located in Vindey in the hills of Sézanne in the Marne (south of the Côte des Blancs, 40 minutes from Epernay).
Sebastien Depoivre (and his wife Pauline) took over from his parents, Bernard and Yvette several years ago. They follow a 'reasoned viticulture' approach (with respect and preservation) and are personally in every aspect of the process to guarantee an authentic winegrower's champagne.
The vineyard is situated on a terroir of chalky soil and well exposed to the southeast. This provides a finesse and elegance to their Chardonnays as well as a fruitiness and character to their Pinot Noirs and Millers.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
