Established in Aÿ in 1584 by Pierre Gosset, Champagne Gosset holds the distinction of being the oldest wine house in Champagne. For the following four centuries, various generations of the Gosset family not only gained recognition as civic leaders like aldermen, mayors, and magistrates in Aÿ but also as individuals involved in the cultivation and trade of Champagne wines. Throughout different eras, the men and women of the Gosset family shared a common aspiration: to enhance the quality of their terroir.
Then, in 1993, after more than four centuries of family ownership, Champagne Gosset was acquired by the Renaud-Cointreau family, who also oversee the esteemed Cognac Frapin. The Renaud-Cointreaus are committed to upholding the traditional champagne-making style that suits its historic origins in Aÿ. While some other Champagne houses are transferring control to large corporations, the Renaud-Cointreau family recognizes the importance of preserving the winemaking heritage that has, for over 430 years, established Champagne Gosset as the foremost name in champagne.
In 2009, Champagne Gosset announced the purchase of a new property in the heart of Epernay, effectively doubling their cellar space and serving as an extension to their production facilities in Aÿ.
