2019 Chardonnay Wismer Vineyard VQA
Combine an exceptional growing season with mature vines and meticulous hand-picking and sorting and you get a truly classic vintage of this wine! While certainly displaying the characteristic chalkiness and weight of the Twenty Mile Bench in Vineland, this wine shows more acid and restraint than in some warmer vintages.  Pineapple, peach, lemon-curd and hazelnut immediately fill the nose, with hints of white flowers and honeysuckle poking through.  The palate immediately brings chalk and mineral, backed by meringue, fresh cream, macintosh apples, cumin and roasted almonds. Texture and weight are phenomenal and are balanced by unusually good acidity leading to an incredibly long finish. Drink with lemon roasted chicken, semi-soft cheese, and freshly baked bread. It will age well for the next 5-8 years.

2020 Chardonnay Grimsby Hillside Vineyard VQA
An amazing growing season has given us a stunning debut for this vineyard! Exceptionally tightly wound, the bright lemon curd is balanced perfectly with wet-stone, gunflint and wisps of wintergreen in the background. With more air some green apple, pineapple, crème-fraiche and roasted almond do start to appear, but the fantastic notion of a cold mountain stream trickling over limestones never fades.  The palate is perfectly balanced showing good weight and structure which is almost immediately washed away with laser-like acidity.  The finish is exceptionally complex and long, fading very slowly. Truly unique!

2020 Chardonnay Senchuk Vineyard VQA
This Estate vineyard is always the best expression of the vintage grown in the Senchuk Vineyard and this wine does not disappoint.  The aromatics jump out of the glass with lemon-curd, pineapple and fruit blossoms leading, encompassed by sea salt, spice and white pepper.  Although there is a richness to the nose of salt-water toffee and toasted almonds, there is also restraint, focus and minerality.  The palate demonstrates the complexity that is hinted at on the nose, with layers of both richness and restraint.  Miso crème brulee with caramel sea salt, hints of vanilla and warm ripe fruits all mixed together with “water over a mountain stream” level minerality!  The finish just goes on and on showing why this is a truly outstanding example of Senchuk Vineyard!

2020 Pinot Noir Bock Vineyard VQA
2020 is that rare vintage that is both ripe and full-bodied yet balanced by natural acidity.  A great vintage is combined here with a vineyard we think expresses quintessential St. Davids Pinot: generous, open and rich on one hand yet delicate, perfumed and perfectly balanced on the other.  Immediately bing-cherry, wild-raspberry and pomegranate are soon joined by tomato leaf, sweet-tobacco, basil and pancetta. The palate adds more red-berry fruit along with black-pepper, smoked game meat and oregano.  A feeling of fullness and generosity meets a medium body with lovely elegance and smoothness and an exceptionally long finish.  The tannic structure is solid however, leading to an ability to age 6-8 years.

2020 Pinot Noir Hemeris Vineyard VQA
An amazing growing season has given us a stunning debut for this vineyard! The density, intense body and structure of this wine are stunning. While some of the warmth and richness of the vintage is present, the acidity, and earthy components are still brought forward by the cool site.  The nose mixes pomegranate, black cheery, candy-cane beets, earth and cola in equal measure, with vanilla and baking spice layering over a background of fallen leaves and smoked meat. On the palate the wine unfolds even more showing intense black cherry, leather saddle, beet root, roast drippings backed by tobacco, basil and underbrush. Leaning towards full-bodied with loads of core structure & tannin, it is full and vibrant with excellent acidity and tannin that will easily help it last for a decade.  This wine shows us that terroir hunting pays off and that our specific area of Lincoln Lakeshore tastes unlike other areas of Niagara.

2020 Pinot Noir Senchuk Vineyard VQA
Incredibly weight, density and structure, yet still solidly medium+ bodied and agile. The cool and steady season was just about perfect for Pinot, creating a depth and balance this wine has never had before.  The number of layers is hard to fathom and keeps unfolding on the nose; first bing cherry, pomegranate, and sugar-beets, then wintergreen, earth and moss followed by tomato-leaf, tobacco, pepper and rose-petal. As the nose opens further herbs like tarragon, sage and oregano appear over dried leaves and damp soil. On the palate, kirsch and mulberry lead, followed quickly by fried oyster-mushrooms, tan-leather, fennel seed, cured-meat and pan-drippings.  Raspberry pokes back in, only to be subsumed by hazelnut-encrusted lamb, bramble and wet stone. On the one hand full-bodied with a core structure and tannin that can easily last a decade, yet with vibrant acidity and incredible nimbleness and balance.
