"The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Macherelles has a taut and precise bouquet, more tightly wound than the Puligny-Montrachet Villages with lovely oyster shell and wet limestone notes emerging with time. The palate is crisp and fresh on the entry, a dash of spice to get things started before aligning itself to a more classic, linear and tensile Chassagne that unsurprisingly surpasses the Puligny-Montrachet Villages. This is excellent."
