Château Suduiraut, Sauternes 1985

The history of Château Suduiraut dates back to the 15th century, when it was owned by the Lestonnac family, who were related to the Pontac family, the owners of Château Haut Brion. In 1682, the estate was donated to the Congregation of the Mission, a religious order founded by Saint Vincent de Paul. The priests cultivated the vineyards for nearly 130 years, until the French Revolution, when the estate was confiscated by the state. The estate changed hands several times, until it was bought by the Woltner family in 1919, who modernized the winemaking and improved the quality of the wines. In 1983, the estate was sold to Domaine Clarence Dillon, the owners of Château Haut Brion, who have continued the tradition of excellence and innovation.
