Tasting Notes
Unbeknownst to many Bordeaux lovers, white wines reigned supreme for much of its history long before reds became king. Paying homage to that history, Philipe and Catherine produce a white wine from 75-year-old vines. It's a blend of primarily Sauvignon Blanc, with a small proportion of Sémillon, Sauvignon Gris, Merlot Blanc and Chasselas. The nose is delicate and nuanced, a rarity for Bordeaux Blanc, with hints of green apple, citrus, tropical fruit, white flowers, herbs and fennel notes. At 12.5% abv, the richness comes from the perfectly ripened fruit and not alcohol. Beautifully balanced acidity wraps everything up and leaves you refreshed after the incredibly long and elegant finish.
