The extreme cold night and long summer days of New Zealand's Central Otago region are the conditions that serve to produce the vivid, rich and spicy Cherry Block Pinot Noir. Ripe cherry, raspberry are complemented by spice and mushrooms.

"Youthfully expressed and delightfully lifted, the wine shows sweet raspberry, cherry, floral, subtle spice and almond characters. The palate delivers lovely weight and roundness together with fine texture and bright acidity, finishing long and refreshing. At its best: now to 2023."

Snapper Rock

James Leary and two local Marlborough friends planted out 6.5 ha on the Ward Valley Estate Vineyard in 2008 in the southern most growing region of Marlborough which is Ward in the Southern Awatere Valley. The site was selected for its deep clay soil structures and elevated hill side location allowing for prefect growing conditions for Pinot Noir and grassy lemony styles of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The first commercial vintage of Snapper Rock was 2011 and from that point they have grown the brand to produce only 4,000 cases of Sauvignon Blanc and 1,000 cases of Pinot Noir making Snapper Rock a perfect example of cooler climate single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
