Tasting Notes
"Sporting a velvety dark appearance, the 2011 Chianti Classico Riserva shows some of the warmth of the 2011 vintage. The wine's concentration is soft and thick, and the bouquet shows ripe cherry, plum and a hint of dried prune. The mouthfeel is beautifully plush and enduring. If you like a softer style of Sangiovese, this wine fits the bill. It probably won't age as long compared to the cooler 2010 vintage. But, it makes a perfect option for near-term drinking."

The Producer
Cafaggio
Cafaggio was founded in Panzano by the Benedictan friars of Siena in 1408, cultivating grapevines and olives. The Farkas family during the 70’s completely renovated the grounds of the country home, equipping the property with the most advanced production facilities. Cafaggio covers approximately 60 hectares, of which 30 are cultivated as specialised vineyards and about 10 as olive groves. The remaining area is woodland. Situated in an area recognised as the finest zone for producing Chianti Classico.
