Antane is a family-owned winery located in the heart of the Napa Valley, California. The winery was established in 1995 by the Antane family and has been producing award-winning wines ever since. The winery is run by the owner, John Antane, and the winemaker, Sarah Jones.
John Antane, a third-generation winemaker, learned the art of winemaking from his father and grandfather. He is deeply passionate about producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of Napa Valley. Winemaker, Sarah Jones is a graduate of the UC Davis wine program and has over a decade of experience in winemaking. Her expertise in blending and fermentation has helped Antane winery create some of the most exquisite wines in the region.
The winery is located on a small hill overlooking the valley and has an ideal microclimate for growing grapes. The soil is a mix of volcanic ash and alluvial deposits, which creates a perfect balance of acidity and minerality in the wines. The vineyards are primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay.
Antane has received numerous awards over the years, including the Gold Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition for their 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. Their 2017 Chardonnay also received a score of 95 points from Wine Enthusiast magazine.
Interestingly, the Antane family has a tradition of naming their wines after their family members. Their flagship wine, the John Antane Cabernet Sauvignon, is named after the owner, while the Sarah Jones Chardonnay is named after the winemaker. This personal touch adds a unique character to their wines and reflects the family's deep connection to their craft.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
