"Tasted blind at Fine & Rare Wines' Clos Vougeot tasting, the 2013 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru from Jean-Jacques Confuron has a generous nose that comes racing out of the blocks without losing any of its delineation and precision. It has fine purity, perhaps more floral than its peers, gaining more intensity as it opens in the glass with black cherry and red plum aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannin. There is good backbone to this Clos Vougeot, lending it a more masculine and less supple texture. It clams up towards the bitter-edged finish, but I feel this has long-term potential."
