Colheita is a Portuguese term that translates directly as "Vintage", but is really used to identify a Tawny Port which is derived from a single vintage. Colheita ports are a bit rare, as they are produced in smaller quantities than many other styles of Vintage or Tawny Ports. Harvested in 2004, aged in wood for 8 years until 2012 when it was bottled, this is an exceptional Tawny Port for the money. Intense, dried red fruits, caramel, toasted nutty - great length! Once opened, the bottle can be kept for up to 3 months.
