"Intensely fruity and glossy in mouthfeel, this supple Syrah is packed with flavors of cassis preserve and plum. A ripe expression of Cornas, it maintains the classic signature too, a smokiness accentuated by hints of bacon fat, ore and sage. Vibrant acidity and fine, gripping tannins lend firm structure. Gorgeous already the wine will meld, gain depth and perfume through 2037 and hold further."

"Inky violet color. Powerful black/blue fruit, smoky bacon, wisteria, vanilla and licorice scents are sharpened by black pepper and mineral notes. Concentrated blueberry, cherry liqueur and spicecake flavors show outstanding clarity and a sexy floral nuance. The Producer
Jean Luc Colombo
Jean-Luc’s dream of winemaking became a reality in the early 1980s when he acquired his first vineyard. Hence the first vintage of the Cornas “Les Ruchets” (1987), which became the flagship wine of the Jean-Luc Colombo wines. With a long stride, the vineyard grew and Jean-Luc was finally able to fulfill his passion for wine by relying on a few solid principles: respect for nature and the different terroirs.
While Colombo produces several Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée wines in the Rhône, such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Hermitage, he is most noted for being a pioneer in the revitalization of the Cornas wine region.
