Nestled in the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley, just a stone's throw from Châteauneuf du Pape, is the La Bastide Saint Dominique estate. Blessed with an ideal climate featuring the distinctive Mistral wind and scorching, dry summers, this estate, centered around a 16th-century chapel, was founded by Marie-Claude and Gérard Bonnet on a modest parcel of land. Through unwavering dedication and passion, the Bonnets expanded their domain to an impressive 50 hectares, cultivating Appellations d'Origine Protégée (AOP) such as Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Cairanne, Châteauneuf du Pape, and Indication Géographique Protégée (IGP) Méditerranée.
Since 1999, their son Eric has taken charge, overseeing the entire production and vinification process with a forward-thinking approach, blending innovation with tradition. Demonstrating a commitment to environmental sustainability, La Bastide Saint Dominique achieved French AB (Agriculture Biologique) Organic farming certification in 2011, and all their wines since the 2014 vintage proudly bear this certification.
The distinctive combination of unique soil composition, diverse grape varietals, and ancient vines guarantees the exceptional quality of La Bastide Saint Dominique wines. The vines, rooted in limestone-rich soil, coexist with red clay and smooth pebbles, ensuring optimal heat retention and regulation. Adhering to Organic Farming regulations, meticulous practices such as precise pruning methods and hand harvesting underscore the estate's dedication to preserving both soil and vines.
