Tasting Notes

"The 2014 'La Cigalette' is another excellent showing from the domaine in this vintage. It instantly opens with alluring aromas of blackberries and ripe black plum woven together with violets, spices, cracked pepper and an underlying mesquite-smokey character, which adds lovely complexity. On the palate, this is full-bodied with notable concentration and balance from start to finish. This is showing well now, but will be at its best after some short term cellaring. (Best 2017-2025)"

The Producer

Domaine de Dionysos

Marseille, 1720 - the Great Plague has invaded the city. The FARJON family fled to the hills of Uchaux, at that point a little colony that would rapidly become the hamlet we know as Uchaux Les Farjon today. For the past seven generations, the FARJON family has been producing incredible wines. This wine is the Rhône Valley embodiment of PHILIPPE CAMBIE’S trademark style. Cambie, consultant winemaker at the property for the past few years, is credited with reviving the wines of the Rhône Valley over the past two decades, and was named WINEMAKER OF THE YEAR by Robert Parker in 2010.
