Tasting Notes
The wine shows moderate to deep ruby red colour, with an almost purple hue indicative of its youth. A complex and rich mix of aroma's, including black cherry, tapenade (black olive puree) crab apple, plum, cranberry and stewed strawberry fruit, with subtle licorice and mint. On the palate, the wine mirrors the nose, although the fruits tend to show a little more of a black nature than the pretty nose would imply. Some black licorice notes on the finish. This would pair well with grilled meats, duck confit, leg of lamb, ratatouille, and other herb infused foods or dishes flavoured with olives.

Domaine de la Guicharde
La Guicharde is a small 40-hectare biodynamic wine estate, located on the Massif d'Uchaux in the heart of the Rhône Valley terroirs. Developed to express the quintessence of their terroir, the uniqueness of their wines is undeniably influenced by the specific environment of the Massif d'Uchaux and a desire to assert a difference through biodynamics.
They allow the vine to express itself fully by cultivating it as naturally as possible. The spirit instilled in the vineyard thus extends naturally to the cellar. They work with the grapes from the terroirs, without trying to transform them, to produce a wine that reflects its environment. All their wines have been Demeter certified since 2010.
