Tasting Notes
Etienne Pochon is owner and winemaker at this historic estate in the Northern Rhone. Crozes Hermitage is made from 100% Syrah, with no use of oak. The colour is ruby red and youthful. The nose is also youthful with red fruits, white pepper, a bit of barnyard, bacon fat, and menthol. The palate is medium bodied and dry, with intense, red fruits, light licorice, black cherry and plums. Drink now and over the next 4 years.

The Producer
Domaine Pochon
At the heart of the northern Crus of the Rhône Valley, the Domaine ETIENNE POCHON offers wines of great expression. This domain was created by Edouard POCHON in 1964, the date of the first planting of vines, which still flourish. In 1988, his son Etienne began to vinify the production of grapes in the Château de Curson and to market his white and red Crozes-Hermitages in bottles.
Adrien POCHON (son of Etienne) has now joined as a partner. He obtained a Brevet de Technicien Supérieur Viticulture Œnologie at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune and a licence in Wine Marketing in 2020 at the IUT of Valencia.
The vineyard has been organic since 2014 and has 12.80 ha of Syrah grape variety for the red and 4 hectares of Marsanne and Roussanne grape variety for the white.
