Tasting Notes

Green apple, kiwi and petrichor greet you as you nose this charming, off-dry sipper. The palate is medium-weight, but the fresh acidity makes it seem lighter, despite the lees contact adding complexity. Apple, lime and wet stone on the palate, with just a dollop of residual sweetness on the finish. A perfect aperitif wine, but also enjoyable with a wide range of foods, such as garlic sausages or grilled pork chops.

Feravino

The roots of Feravino winery trace back to the 18th century, when the culture of winemaking was introduced to the Slavonija region by the Cisterians and Templars. In 1804, wine cellars were constructed, marking the beginning of wine production in the Feričanci area. Feravino is a continental winery renowned for crafting high-quality red wines, with a special focus on the prized frankovka grape variety. Additionally, they produce other exceptional red wines such as syrah, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc. Their annual production reaches approximately 900,000 liters. Feravino also showcases their expertise in white wines, including graševina, pinot blanc, chardonnay, and rhenish riesling.

What sets Feravino apart are their distinctive wine bottles, characterized by elegance and adorned with creative designs that reflect the region's rich traditions and the essence of Slavonian forests. Throughout its history, this wine has been cherished by local composers and writers. One notable guest was the famous composer Franz Liszt, who drew inspiration from the wines of Feričanci and frequented the noble Mihalović family.
