Award-winning Añejo that's multi-layered with jasmine, toasted oak, and agave aromas. Additional flavours of black pepper and white flower make way for a mildly spicy mid-palate leading to a long, warm finish. Serve with loaded nachos, cold cuts and sharp cheese or use to craft a creative cocktail.
"Straw color. Inviting aromas and flavors of honey-drizzled grapefruit, sweet apple compote, toffee, and sweet chamomile tea with a round, vibrant, dryish light-to-medium body and a peppery, elegant, medium-long finish with notes of pink peppercorns, ginger, and graphite. A stylish, peppery Tequila with a true sense of self."

Don Felipe Camarena was born into a family that had been crafting tequila since the early 1800s. The family's original distillery was destroyed and abandoned during the Mexican Revolution. Consequently, Don Felipe embarked on his career by cultivating and selling agave plants to other distillers. In 1937, he established La Alteña Distillery in the mountainous region of Jalisco, Mexico, renowned for producing top-quality blue agave.
Driven by his commitment to doing things meticulously, Don Felipe's passion inspired his family to persist in handcrafting Tapatio so that it could be enjoyed by generations to come. Don Felipe passed the business to his son, Felipe J. Camarena, who, in turn, handed it down to his daughters, Lilianna and Gabriela, and his son, Carlos. As the current Master Distiller, Carlos upholds the high standards of excellence set by his grandfather.
Many of the techniques employed in creating this spirit remain unchanged for over a century. A large stone wheel, known as a Tahona, is used for much of the production process to crush the cooked agave plants. The resulting juice and agave fibres are then mixed in a barrel by foot before undergoing fermentation and distillation.
Tapatio undergoes double distillation to achieve a bottle strength as close as possible to retain the Tequila's natural character. In recent years, the Tequilas from La Alteña distillery, including Tapatio, Ocho, and El Tesoro brands, have gained remarkable popularity in the UK on-trade. They enjoy an unparalleled reputation for quality, integrity, and authenticity among bartenders and Tequila enthusiasts alike.
